During her presentation, Professor Tubman shared a bit more about her background and provided an overview of the fusion research field as a whole. She has performed experiments on a variety of fusion devices, including the most well known ones such as JET (Joint European Torus) in the UK and NIF (National Ignition Facility) in Livermore, CA. She was drawn to the fusion space because of her love of science and the amount of work that still needed to be done to understand how plasmas work.
