Professor Brilliant has taught courses on the history of the nuclear industry in the past. His presentation during our meeting covered the origin of the Navy Nuclear program which led to rapid nuclear technology advances in the early 50s. The development of nuclear reactors for war vessels sparked efforts to port the technology to the civilian world for energy purposes.
